Linking the regional to the national ecosystem
This case study focuses on different impact and community-driven initiatives to accelerate the energy transition. Energie Samen is the national umbrella organization and interest group of energy cooperatives. Through Energie Samen, 'local ownership' becomes part of the National Climate Agreement. Energie Samen is well-positioned to help local energy cooperatives link to other national stakeholders, sources of funding and so on.
Energie van Utrecht works on a regional level to strengthen the position and professionalism of the local energy cooperatives and initiatives in the province of Utrecht, and supports their efforts to realize the energy transition through (cooperative) ownership.
Together, these two organizations interconnect two ecosystems that are highly valuable to a growing number of social and community-based enterprises.
